Arts in Mission Summit: Go Beyond – Expanding the Horizons of Mission

A new frontier in Korean missions, Arts in Mission, is gaining momentum, and to discuss its practical applications, a summit will be held in Nikko, Japan, from March 2.
This summit is organized by Pastor Jongam Park (former director of Anointing and current cultural missionary in Vietnam), Pastor Yoojung Lee (Director of Worship Ministry Research Institute), and Pastor Boyoung Seong (Director of Deep and Wide Foundation). Over the past three years, they have collaborated under the Arts and Culture Division of the Korean World Mission Council for Christ (KWMC) and are now moving from discussion to action through this summit.
Additionally, Missionary Changjin Lee (Director of WePlant), Heeseung Eun (Director of next M, a professional cultural arts planning agency in Korea), and Master Bridge Team led by Eun-Chong Kim will contribute to program planning and execution.

The summit will be further enriched by the presence of key mission leaders such as KWMC Secretary General Yongjung Cho, GP Korea Director Donggeon Kim, LAMS Director Sam Cho, VWI Missionary Cheolhoon Ham, and Pastor Jubong Yeo from Vineyard Church. More than 40 cultural arts missionaries from Korea, the U.S., and various mission fields will also participate.

The event will take place from March 3-6 in Nikko, near Tokyo, with the theme "Go Beyond", focusing on the intersection of arts and mission.
Summit Key Themes
Each day will address a specific topic:
Beyond Boundaries – Exploring the philosophy and essence of Arts in Mission
Beyond Time – Connecting across generations and cultural shifts
Beyond Standpoints – Strengthening collaboration through unity and networks
On the final day (Day 4), the summit will host "Japan Day", inviting cultural arts missionaries from Japan to encourage them and discuss practical approaches to Arts in Mission within the Japanese context.

According to Rev. Boyoung Seong, who is overseeing the summit’s planning, "The convergence of the vast mountain of arts with the broad ocean of mission is not an easy process, but through this summit, we will carefully address key topics and develop ongoing discourse."
A unique feature of this summit is the strong participation of young generation in their 20s and 30s, along with experienced ministers and missionaries in their 40s, 50s, and pioneering leaders in their 60s. This intergenerational gathering will bridge the gap between generations and set a clear vision for the future of Arts in Mission.
Leading up to the summit, participants are actively engaging in Summit+, an online platform where discussions and presentations are being shared, creating an atmosphere of anticipation.
